Garden State - the song when He is at the House Party doing X and they all play spin the bottle . Name and Band of the Song playing???
I realize there is a soundtrack out there, but it doesn't say at what scene they play which song.
peace

The song is called "In the waiting line" by a group called "Zero 7". My favorite song on the soundtrack
You can listen to a sample here to be sure

Amazing might be a bit of an overstatement. Not that the Acadamy always gets it right, but GS wasn't even nominated for a golden globe...
That movie was a huge letdown. The soundtrack held the whole thing together.
The trailer was amazing though, it really was.
I remember thinking it was going to be amazing, and then leaving the theater disappointed.
That's because Garden State is one of the most contrived movies ever made, nothing in it is original, the dialogue is hackneyed, and as much as it tries to be deep the topics are really unbelievably shallow.
To fans of Garden State: if you're looking for insight into life, try a movie with something interesting to say like Fight Club.
And what does Fight Club have to say...?
A lot, too many great quotes to name, but here's a good one:
"It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything"
Who's a better contemporary writer than Chuck Palahniuk?

I need to pick up that book.
I haven't even seen the movie all the way through, so I guess it is a good time to read it.
What are some of the underlying ideas in the book. obviously it is more than a book about fighting.

Wow. So deep. And original too! I've never heard anything like that before. Except for the 50 or so times I have, of course.
I didn't go to Garden State looking for "insight into life". I went to it for entertainment. I was entertained. Same reason I went to see Fight Club. Same result.
To fans of Fight Club and any other movie. If you manage to get "insight into life" from a movie then great. Good for you. But if you got to a movie looking for insight into life, you need to get out more.

I think Speeve was referring more to the novel, which has a lot to say about our consumerist society.
The Fight Club wiki is pretty interesting, but be careful b/c it has spoilers. I am going to get the book this weekend.
