Ingmar Bergman and Michelangelo Antonnioni have both passed away. You may not have heard of these people if you watch only "hollywood" type films. That would be a shame, because these two made beautiful thought provoking works of genius. What are your fav film from these two, if you know of them? Me? Well, see my handle. ;) Sad day today.

I have a dvd of it and recently watched it with the expert commentary track, and I learned so much about "film art" from this. LAvventura is very beautiful, and certainly baffling for "mainstream audiences" and I know that sounds very pompous of me to say that. I'm no expert. But there are so many great films that are ignored by us Americans, because they are "different", and it's our loss.
