During the coverage of the tour, they mentioned that the Discovery team is looking for a new sponsor, does that mean that the Discovery Channel is pulling out after this year or are they just looking for an additional team sponsor?

Disco is pulling out. The team will be looking for a new sponsor. Not a suprise. US Postal pulled out. It was only a matter of time with Lance out.

You would think some big Pharma company would sponsor them, like a big EPO maker. Lance must know them.
I don't understand why Nike wouldn't want to be the main sponsor.
I was just wondering the same thing. It seems like $15 million (the amount quoted in the NY times article as needed to fund a pro team) wouldn't be too much for Nike to put into a cycling team.

Bring back 7-11
Better question: Who is Discovery's top dog, Levi or George?
basso. he's currently out reconnoitering the Alps for TdF 2011 as Tailwind's tour leader.
Good question. I like George, but I'm guessing it'll be Levi in the end.
Any injury reports from today's crash?
Levi is the captain/leader.

I guess now someone is supposed to say, "Nike wouldn't want to do that because of all the drug scandals associated with cycling".
And then that would leave the door open for you or another to reply with a smug, know-it-all tone, "Well they have never shied away from supporting drug cheats before, it should not stop them now," or something to that effect.
And then the rest of us can all appreciate how world-weary you are you are and be impressed by your hard-won cynicism.
I suggest we just pretend that entire exchange just happened and continue on.
Nike can bring drug cheating in cycling to whole new level.
It looks like George does not quite have all the pieces to make a Grand Tour winner (he certainly will have at least one, if not more, off days). Also, George has signed with rival 'Telekom' (T Mobile) for next year.
Discovery Channel = LetsBike.com when Wejo becomes the new sponsor.

I had heard rumors that Nike is pulling out of cycling altogether, actually.
