Inspired by JT's performance at Grandmas and the sight of Kara June wet from the steeple, my bro Sergio is going to have a breakthrough and run down Abdi like a dog in the last 800.
Mark my words! Go Serg!
Ritz has completed four 10,000s on the track. Setting aside the Olympic Trials, he has run 27:38, 27:35, and 27:45. It's very hard for me to imagine that he won't get top three, and, indeed, I think he'll win, blowing the race open in the last 1,000. Furthermore, I think in a perfect race--temperature, pace, etc.--he's at least fifteen seconds faster than anyone else in tonight's field.
What si teh weather like tonight?
possible storms (scattered though and may not be a factor). it was really cool last night and fealt great out on a run... hopefully tonight is the same. upper 70's to low 80's. probably around 80 though.
Ritz will not qualify tonite. Of that I am certain. If I am wrong its back to the stat.
That's not to bad, with a slight breeze they may fly
1 Ritz
2 Abdi
3 Rupp
4 Hall
5 Torres
What time is the race?
Guess it would be too good to be true if it was on TV or the net, huh?
I'm betting the first three will be Abdi, Ritz and Hall, but I have no idea in what order.
1) Abdi 27:38
2) Ritz 27:39
3) Rupp 27:48
4) Torres 27:48
5) Culpepper 27:49
6) Hall 27:50
The pace is honest but not fast through 8k then Ritz takes the lead and trys to pull away. Abdi is the only one able to hang on until the last lap and outkicks Ritz in the final 100m.
Rupp, Torres, Cullpepper and Hall come to the last lap together in the second pack with the sprint finish only seperating the four by 2 seconds.
1. Abdi
2. Rupp
3. Culpepper
4. Ritz
5. McDougal
6. Torres
7. Hall
8. Carney
That's my order and I'm sticking with it.
1. Ritz
2. Abdi
3. Culp
4. Hall
5. Torres
1. Ritz
2. Abdi
3. Hall
4. Rupp
5. Culpepper
6. Moran
7. Torres
8. Rohatinsky
Ritz will outkick Abdi and Hall in the last lap, with Hall pushing hard from 1200m out. Culpepper will try to hang with the top group, but will fall back and lead the second group of athletes. The race will be fairly fast.
rupp: not enough experience and possibly one too many 10k's already this year.
hall: marathon only 2 months ago, no kick.
ritz, abdi, torres, and culp. any one of them could win as all of them are running pretty well lately. ritz 811, abdi 2731, torres 2742, culp 275x. hall sets an honest pace from the start, abdi takes over in the middle, ritz goes for it with 1500 to go and everyone else tries to hang on for the kick.
