not me - personally it messed my training up as my pulse fluctuates a lot. I much prefer using Dr Daniels tables. They are more measurable and I have had much more success following his approach.

Since recovery will enhance performance, HRM is an excellent tool to use on your easy days so that you don't push the pace. Most people don't have the ability to hold back if the feeling is good on a recovery day.
On quality days I rather not use the HRM, I find my threshold pace better by feel. So it's better to be 'free' when you suppose to run fast.
I also use one for recovery days to help hold myself back. The only other time that I use one is for my tempo-runs, when I'm trying to maintain an effort level.
ITS A GOOD TOOL FOR MAKING RECOVERY DAYS REALLY RECOVERY DAYS. I USE IT ON SPEED DAYS AS WELL, NOT AS A GUIDE BUT TO SEE HOW HIGH A CERTAIN EFFORT WILL GET MY HR. IF THE EFFORT PRODUCES A LOWER HR OVER A FEW MONTHS, BUT THE TIME AND DSTANCE A RE THE SAME, THIS IS A GOOD INDICATION OF IMPROVING FITNESS. I ALSO USE IT ON MY LONG RUNS- AN INCREASE IN HR AFTER 90 MIN OR SO WHILE MAINTAINING THE SAME EFFORT OFTEN INDICATED DEHYDRATION- HR WILL GO DOWN AFTER I DRINK.
