one bump but most recent race was a 4:08 going out in 2:19 for the 800.
what were your workouts prior to the 4:05/4:08?
i'll give you 4:03.
i had been doing all basically long runs mixed with tempo and hill stuff. i had maybe three track workouts. between 4:00 and 4:04 is what im shooting for.

Here's a secret: these threads are not for your enjoyment.
I would agree that 4:02 or 4:03 in a well paced race seems right
You should be able to go sub 4 1500m easily. It really depends on what kind of runner you are...
What's your top 200m speed?
How much mileage are you doing now, how much did you do one month ago, 2 months ago?
I'm tired of you trolls who start these "what can I run" threads at least once a week. Tell ya what; go run a friggin time trial for 1500m tomorrow, then answer your own ?
I think 4:05, that 3000 pr is old isn't it?
I think i must be very different from you, i could do that workout np, but i can only run 4:20 :O
Gl in your next race
Why don't you get 3 or 4 guys to pace you on alternate laps and then tell us what you did?
If you were rested before the 300m reps...I'll say 4:05 for now and 4:01 in a month or so (if you keep sharpening).
I can't see 4.05 or quicker from that workout.
I see 4.10 - 4.12
lol. I would do 300's with a floater 100, or active 35 sec rest in about 46-48 for 12. What you can probably do off of the workout, just from my experience in the past anywhere from 3:55-4:07 (your pr) is possible. The 46-48 put me well under 3:50.
Now, can you run 27, 55, 1:28 for 200, 400, and 600?
If you can you can easily break 4 in the 15. These are basic fundamentals of a distance runner. There are few guys that can run a 4:25 mile, and can't run a 27 200. If you're one of those, then the workout was nothing and you'd be better off doubling the distance to 600 from 300 and running 5k's.
I can't break 27 for 200, but I reckon I can run well under 4, maybe 3.50
im not a troll....why would I time trial when i have races coming up??
my 3k pr isnt old but ive only ever run one 3k and i sat behind some guy and outkicked him. it was a reasonable effort but not all out.
for speed, recently ive run 39 for a 300 in a workout. i was doing about 60 miles a week 2 months ago, dropping to 40-45 1 month ago and now i am about 30-35.

you must have god awful speed.
I can do that workout and I even have better pr's than you for 800m and 3k yet i couldn't run a 4:08 after doing the first 800m in 2:19. No way.
I did 15x300 with 1 minute rest avg. 49. So pretty similar, more but a little slower. I ran 4:25 for the mile shortly before, but I never raced to my potential/got sick. So I'd say 4:03-4:04 if you get paced well and have good conditions.

yea that race hurt...3rd lap dropped a 62 and hung on from there winner went 4:04 :(
