Are we seeing the beginnings of a British middle distance resurgence?
Heard a rumour that Andy joined Nic Bideau's group, is it true?
Rimmer 1:45.54 800m too. British middle distance resurgance?
More like Merseyside middle distance resurgance!!!
anybody know exactly what Andy went through 1500 in?
i think nic has been his agent for a while, but still has his old coach.
Great run by badders- he has made a big step up in class this season which is great to see.
I think 3rd place is more impressive than the actual time. He tried to push the pace with 300 to go, thought he was finished after that move but he proved me wrong. Great race!
McCormick ran 3.38.46 in the 1500m aswell which is a solid performance for him
Badders is quick over the last 400m so he has a great chance in any tactical race. However, to be honest Im surprised he was able to run that quick, I would have predicted 3.54 at best.

Teletext states that Nick died in the last 200m so could have been a bit faster.

how does that make sense..."if he hadnt died it would have been faster??"
The british can never truly WIN anything, because when the race is over they have to go home and we all know that you cant truly be a winner and live in that shithole.
thank god they never do becourse we woud have to see there yellow teeth when they was smileing

spot on, the problem is having to reproduce this continually through the heats and semis in Championships when everyone is there for the same reason.
unfortunately the guys often display an inconsistency to be serious contenders when it counts at Championships, getting all fired up for one race (to prove oneself)is not enough to be taken seriously on the international stage.
Good to see him come through and I was cheering him on over that final 50, same as for Rimmer
I have never heard of the guy. What is his background?
Where the heck is Whitman and East.

Whiteman recently retired, Badders details here:
http://www.athleticsdata.com/rankings/performances.aspx?athleteid=49If you're talking about whiteman he retired a while back...
East is still running as far as I know but hasn't opened up yet this year and fastest last year was 3:40 for 1500.
Baddeley is a Cambridge grad and think that his academic course (engineering from what I recall which is moderatly time intensive) took up most of his time, then went to st. marys and has just been concentrating a lot more.
Probably the only runner in the world with more upper body related running injuries than lower!
Badders has a faster mile PR than both Myers and Lukezic. However, Lukezic (3:33) and Myers (3:34) have faster 1500 prs and have the World A standard.
Myers did run a 3:53 mile in London nearly 3 years ago.
Funny a quarter century ago we would be talking about Cram, Coe, Scott, and Spivey running a 3:29 - 3:31 1500.
Maybe Lagat and Webb can start things off for the US. For the first time in years the US has two active sub 3:50 milers. It would be nice if Webb were more consistent, but he does show the talent of a Cram and Scott. He does have two of the top five world mile times this year.
*Webb run the fastest April mile ever this year. (3:51.47)
My Prediction for US world team
Lagat - Has A standard
Webb - A standard from 05 3:32.55
Lukezic - A standard 3:33
Any predictions for the UK team beside Badders.
