The Ducks have 27 sub four. Advantage Ducks 800m? Joaquim Cruz, David Mack, and Wade Bell. Advantage Ducks. We'll just leave the steeplechase, 5k and 10k out of it, unless you want more?

No, malmo. Not sub 4 milers EVER- sub4 guys AT ONE TIME. Literally 20 guys living and training together AT ONE TIME, The actual total of Hogs that have come through the doors has has got to be waaaay over 27. Don't know total all-time numbers, however- would be interesting to know when you throw in Bunston, Henry, Power, Baker, O'Shaugnassey- list goes on and on.......
The track list named all of Oregon's and Nova's sub 4:00 runners once. Let's see if we can do it again? 1500s don't count. Use the following template and fill in the blanks:
Name and time:
Arkansas
Oregon
Villanova
Bro, no offense, but there's no way I have time to do that. Maybe there's another track buff out there that might do it...
ever hear of Dub Meyers?
Roscoe Divine
Pre ran a "decent" mile 3:54
Cruz ran 1 freakin 41 for cryin out loud
It's like asking, Historically who has the best Major League Baseball team? Historically in baseball, the answer is the NY Yankees, because of their 27 World Series Championships. In Collegiate X-C/T&F the answer is Arkansas, because of theri 37 NCAA Championships. There's nothing to debate. Move on.
DIII- that's great and all, but analogously (with pure sarcasm and no offense intended):
ever hear of Reuben Reina?
Michael Power
Niall Bruton ran a "decent" 3.37 1500.
Falcon ran a freakin' 3.49 for crying out loud!
Incidentally, when did Cruz run 1.41? never thought he was under 1.42...you might be right...
"What school historically has the best middle distance program?
Answer the question!
While Ohryghun lives in its brief moment in the sun from some years back, the Arkansas program continues.
The original question was about the program. The program is still intact, not history, at Arkansas.
I've probably got this all wrong and the Hawgs are probably not real and stuff like that while you dredge up some other individual performer from some years ago. One star does not make a program.
Ohryghun is rebuilding -- continues...
Stanford upsets
Colorado upsets
Arkansas gets upset
Back to you.
Indoors NCAA D1
800 Villanova 7, Ohryghun 0, Arkansas 0
Mile Villanova 3, Ohryghun 0, Arkansas 5
35# weight throough Villanova 0, Ohryghun 0, Arkansas 0
Indoor Championship
Villanova 3
Ohryghun 0
Arkansas 16
What D2 teams would you consider?
Adams State during the Vigil era, although much of that was NAIA.
According to the trackandfield lists of sub-4 milers, an arbitrary #, but significant, nonetheless, Oregon wins, hands and feet down.
Oregon - 19
Arkansas - 6
Villanova - 2

Dude, are you nuts? You seem to have skipped more than a few...check it out...gary Taylor, Matt Taylor , paul Donovan, Niall Bruton, Michael Power, Iovine, O'Shaughnassay, multiple others...might try and look a little harder...there's plenty more where that came from...definetly skewed results...
So I guess, the 1500 isn't an event anymore? I love the mile, but it isn't king anymore, the 1500 is the list to look at, so where is that? I think the HOGS pass the DUCKS when a newer list is made adding sub 3:42 guys.
Konro, Your list only includes US citizens. Arkansas, 'Nova, and Oregon all have had international stand-outs that are left off that list.
not by individual performances. However, now that you've brought up that topic, I'd put $ on the fact that Arkansas has had more sub 4:00 milers/sub 3:42 1500m runners than any program ever in NCAA DI Track and Field.
I think you might find that there are some women's programs that have been very successful as well. Stanford, Villanova, Wisconsin...
Villanova - see Liquori, M.
He's probably not on the list you provided because he had already cracked 4:00 prior to HS.
You gonna tell me that Arkansas has had only 6 sub 4 guys or equivalent 1500's?
We've been through this many times. People are talking about what they know. If someone can help us all out and put out info/opinions on women's teams, I'm sure folks will read it... But asking a predominantly male-attended site to "re-educate" themselves without providing some educational material, as it were, doesn't seem to work.
