Don\'t Blame CBS, the NCAA /OTC blacked out flocasts.
I wuz at NCAA\'s and Pre. I flew up from Sacratomatoe to Portland on Saturday afternoon, then a rental car to Methville. It wasn\'t CBS who stopped flowcasts, it was the NCAA at Sac, and the OTC at Pre.
At both meets there was local T.V. highlights broadcast on local television. There were dozens T.V. stations who were allowed to tape and broadcast the meet. Fayetteville, AR, baton Rouge, LA, etc. has T.V. cameramen, plus Sacramento, and Eugene T.V. There were TV cameramen from all over the country at Spanos Stadium and Hayward Field with tripod mounted and handheld T.V. cameras. They were all over the field and the finish line, taking videos, and conducting interviews. In addition, Hayward field had several film crews shooting movie reels (not video).
So it\'s not true CBS has the rights to videos, as they NCAA and OTC allowed dozens of others full camcorder access.
Why not allow flowcasts full video access ? What\'s the problem. I Wuz There.
