no...I only saw the final on cable tv and didn't even see results of heats, etc. most likely a foul or some scratches?
I have not seen a pic or video of Kirui's style. But there was a very successful guy in the mid 90's that used a style similar to what I imagine for Kirui based on descriptions. I can't remember his name. He was in the Olympic final of the steeple in either 1992 or 1996. I can't remember if he medaled or not, but was in a leading pack of 4 for much of the race.
His hurdling style was unbelievably fluid and awesome to watch. He'd jump and tuck both legs underneath himself and twist his lower body in mid air. When his legs were tucked, he was in a position of kneeling in mid air.

I want to say it was Wilson Boit Kipketer, but I might be wrong. I do know it was the same era as Bernard Barmasai, and Moses Kiptanui.
Form or no form.....8:20 is a GREAT time for a guy that has not been running that long.
Dave Bedford ran 8:28.6 in his one and only steeplechase and he stepped on every barrier - Crystal Palace 10th Sep 1971.

Carl Moe of UW, DQ'd by referee in the semi-finals.

Kerry O'Brian stepped on the barriers and held the WR at one time.
Yeah, Randy Jackson was interesting to watch.
I want to say it was Christopher Kosgei, 1995 WC silver medallist. He ran 8:09 and basically twisted over every barrier.
