I'll be in Iceland for 4 days, Reykjavic to be specific, and was wondering how the running from the downtown area is. I'd love to find some trails just outside the city to run for 70-90 mins each day.
Any suggestions?

Lived in keflavik for 2 years. In terms of trails, i dont think much are available, basically because trails associate themselves with trees, which Iceland has a grand total of 7. Downtown is so beautiful as it is, you will have no problem running miles through the streets, especially this time of year. My advice is to enjoy the city, and forget about miles for 4 days, you will not regret it.
Thanks!
For me, I love running on vacation. Besides, I'll need to run to sweat out all the alcohol I'll be drinking at night. And with 22 hours of sunlight, finding time should not be an issue.
Not 100% true, I ran just outside of town along a road and along the water...
Iceland is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
Maybe email someone here:
I was in Iceland for about 3 weeks this same time last year. Youre not going to find any trails because there are no woods, especially around Reykjavik. If youre only going to be in the city, I suggest just sticking to the roads, there are plenty of them as well as tons of small alleyways...its prime real-estate for freerunning. When i was there I was out at the base of the glacier in Skaftafell for about a week an a half, that was incredible to run in. Also for about a week i was in the interior in this massive volcanic wasteland called Landmannalauger, i was essentially running through fields of lava. It's a great place to run, I didnt run too many miles while I was there, a couple miles here and there, but those miles were by far the most invigorating miles I've ever run.
There is a couple of tracks in this area of the worlds ive been on them there shit though. there is tons of places to run in iceland though not trails but lost of places. great shags in iceland too

What does this mean?
bump
I believe great shags, refers to the women of Iceland, and perhaps there physical attributes and sexual desires.
I spent 12 months in Keflavik - courtesy of the USAF. Great place to run this time of year, but you will be confined to asphalt mostly. Enjoy it - toward the end of the month you will about 20 hours of daylight. When is the big half-marathon they? A decade ago I was the first American to finish that thing. It rained every step of the way.
Isn't it always 50F and raining in Iceland?
A man is on a week-long business trip in Reykjavic. The first 3 days it rains. On the 4th day he walks out of his hotel in the morning, and sure enough, it's raining again.
He sees a young boy playing in the puddles and asks him, "Excuse me, does it rain like this all the time here?"
To which the boy replies, "I don't know. I'm only 12."
