I am from Michigan and I didn't know until today that there is a meet at Hillsdale this weekend that is offering $17,000 in prize money. Am I in the dark or is this an under publicized event? Does anyone know any details?

The meet isn't very publicized. I went with three of my friends last year (we found out about it that day). There aren't very many people that go to watch.
The problem with publicizing the race is that the Hansons need to get on this board like "The Limey" does and let us all know anytime any athlete is added to the event.
I have run the Meet in the past and I think that it is awesome that it is adding some real money.
$17,000 in prize money, but you do have to run under Olympic Trials Standards.
Nothing wrong with placing time constraints on the race, but I don't think there will be many events where athletes hit and Olympic Trials A or B standard.
Good luck to whoever is racing. I looked everywhere for start list but nothing is available.
Should be a good Meet. I received an email from Hanson and the fastest entries thus far are:
10k 28:40 and 33:17
5k 13:51 and 15:57
steeple 8:45 and 9:48
1500 3:41 and 4:17
800 1:47.2 and 2:06.5
5k just improved as Boaz will be running.
Who is running the 1500? Looking to run fast.
Fastest seed in the 10k is 28:47 by Gaudette who told me in Nashville that he was only pacing former teammate Ryan Sheehan. Sheehan would be the next fastest pr in the field (although he isn't entered yet) with a 28:49 from his days at Saint Francis. Second 10k seed's pr is 30:25, I hope he runs the 29:01 he seeded himself at.
Fastest seed in the 5k is 14:09, I didn't see Boaz entered, although he would light up that race if he did. I hope he runs.
The 1500 looks pretty solid
The Women's races look very good.

That is not correct. The listings are approved by the Meet Manager. None of the entries that are done by the Meet Manager show up on the nftl page.
$17,500 is a nice amount of money to donate to track and field considering you don't even have runners running in 80% of the Events. As an 800 man, I appreciate it.

Does this mean that they are still accepting entries?
So, the lists on nftl are not accurate? If so, how to we find out who is running before making the trip to watch? Thanks for any additional info.

Wow - the fields are shaping up. Seems odd that Hansons don't actually enter their guys prior to their race so we can actually tell who's ultimately running.
After not posting for a couple years, I will give it a shot again.
Indiana Invaders will supply rabbits for the mens and womens 800 and 1500.
Melissa White will pace the womens 10k through at least halfway.
Dot McMahon will pace the womens 5k through the halfway point.
Chad Johnson and Luke Humphrey will pace the mens 10k through the 5k.
Willis will pace the mens 5k at 64's for as long as he feels good. He is attempting to pull Boaz through a sub 13:20.
We have been told that there is a Japanese women steepler who has run 9:42 that we are supposed to pick up at the airport, but she has not entered yet.
Marty Rosendahl and Ryan Sheehan will both run the 10k.
Desiree Davilla will run the 10k as well.
That is all I have for now. Although there is a cutoff on
. of tomorrow for entries, just email me or give me a call and I will get you in.
Any other questions, feel free to contact me.
