Anyone seen results from the Pan-Am Marathon yet? It should be over soon....
Fuck the USATF. They picked Chris Banks for the team and I have a faster qualifying time and they didn't even axe me. I even won the Bangkok Marathon in miserably hot/humid conditions. The USATF has a fiduciary duty to pick the best team and they didn't even ask me.
Sure I am injured right now, but my point is, the USATF has the fiduciary duty of picking the best team.
Jason
maybe they didnt think you were the right fit to represent the u.s. after some of the stuff you say on the board. bangin little asian girls is one thing....braggin about it on a message board read by everyone(so says malmo)isnt going to make you look too hot in some peoples eyes.
Were you one of the seven guys in front of Banks at nationals? I rest my case.
Johnnie Cochran
1st- V. Lima 2:19
2nd- Bruce Deacon 2:20
3rd - D. Colorado
Nice one Bruce mate! I bet there is a ton of you boarders out there saying I could have done that!
Jason,
With all do respect to your opinion, I have to say that you are overlooking that the marathon is an event which the USOC has the rigth to the picking of the team over USAT&F. USOC mandated that the US Marathon Champs are the sole selection race for the Pan Am Games. You had to leave the asian butts for the US ones in February or you are assed out on making the TEAM for Dominica!
Picking The Team
And another thing, I was a mere 36 seconds behind Diego Colorado at Berlin, so I would've been there kicking ass.
Where did you get the results for the marathon? Any deeper results? Also, what about the women\'s marathon? Thanks.
You see, the USATF has a fiduciary duty of picking the best team.
The selection criteria was set up in hindsight. Going into the USA Championships in February, they said NOTHING about the PanAm Games, only about the Worlds.
I agree, Jason and Eddy H would have come thru in the PanAm's, maybe you would not have been hurt Jason if you were training for a hot August Marathon.
Eddy wanted to race the Pan Am Marathon and let USATF know he was interested. He is good in the heat, his Boston Marathon should have earned him s spot on the team but it did not. I hear you Jason, but Jason show them at the trials. Are you bringing a Thai massuese for Team H?
Slam sports. It's a Canadian site. I didn't see the womens results on it yet.
I have an "Ummmmm...Friend" who is a doctor (Pathologist) for a major hospital in The Kok, so I think that she can get herself a Visa.
I'll need to eat some sweet Thai pussy during my carbo-depletion phase.
I'll see if she has any colleagues who are good enough to get a visa AND fit the High Standards of Team H.
Quick poll:
anybody other than jason care that he didn't get picked for the team?
Pete, you are completely missing the point.
I am not protesting my not being in Santo Domingo, because I am unable to run at this time.
I AM protesting the stupid way they picked the team.
jason
Jason, I do think it is sad you were not given a chance to get a spot on the team, particularly after how brilliantly you ran in Berlin. However I took a look at the USATF website and the section on the Pan Am Games. They list the selection criteria there and speak of the USA Championship marathon in the future tense. Are you positive these guidelines were not up before the USA Champs? It looks like they were.
Here is the page to which I am referring:
http://www.usatf.org/events/2003/PanAmericanGames/entry/selectionProcedures.shtml
Interestingly by the way, even the guidelines mention that they did not know if the Pan Am Games would be holding a full marathon or a half marathon. At the time they were written, the games organizers apparently had not decided.
He's not a superstar, but I think JasoninWherever (with his dumb posts bragging about screwing Thai chicks), belongs on that list.
I hope Jason wins the Olympic marathon, so people research his background in detail. They will undoubtedly conclude (1) he is lacking in mental development (2) he has mental health issues (3) he doesn't get laid 1/50 as much as he claims.
Jason, you would have a million fans on this site if you just left the frat boy bragging crap alone.
Yes, I saw the same information regarding the selection criteria.
In late January, I was wavering on whether or not to make the long trip to B'ham via Europe in order to avoid the jetlag.
I do have mental health and emotional issues, lots of them. Running is really the only "medication" that work for me. Anti-depressants never worked for me.
However, I am also blessed with a near-photographic memory. I remember that the USATF, going into the race, said nothing more than the Top 3 Finishers get to go to the World Championships. At that point, the Pan Am Games Organisers decided to have a Half-marathon and the USATF was going to use the Hospital Hill Half in KC (USA Championship) as the Selection Event.
At some point along the way, the good folks at the Pan Ams changed course and decided to go with the full Marathon. Then all of a sudden, the USATF has to select runners, and they changed the Selection Event to a race that had already happened.
I have nothing but the utmost respect for anyone who can run a marathon, especially a sub 2;20. Mr. Chris Banks and Mr. Jeff Campbell deserve our full support as USA Team members, and I hope that they had a good time and a good race at Santo Domingo.
However, I condemn the action of the USATF to change the Selection Event to a race that had already happened months ago. A better way of going about selecting the team would be to analyze results of who runs well in the heat and humidity.
Do I have a faster time that Mr. Banks? Yes. Would have been able to run this morning in Santo Domingo? No, I am injured. HOWEVER, If I had a chance to train specifically for this race, I think that I would have had a good shot at a medal. I finished just 36 seconds behind Diego Colorado at Berlin and I run very well in the heat.
Oh yeah, I had sex with 8 different women a total of 12 times last week. (I have a pornographic memory as well.)
Jason
fiduciary. fiduciary. say fiduciary one more time, freak boy. nobody cares.
Jason,
Since you thought they would be using the hospital hill 10 mile championships as the qualifier for the Pan AM games, how did you perform at the hospital hill run? If you chose not to compete their and you chose not to compete at the U.S. marathon championships, why are you doing so much whining about the selection process. I cannot imagine a selection process that would have gotten down to Jason. Their are at least a dozen runners more deserving than Jason that did not get selected.
I didn't run that because it was a half marathon, (not 10miles) and also I was injured at the time with a stress fracture.
If you think that I suck, then why did the selection procedure get down to someone slower than me? HUH?
That is what I can't figure out. They set up the selection procedure to pick the team that they wanted, not necessarily the best team, just like in 2000 for the Olympics when they should have picked David Morris based on his time.
