So what is so magical about Oregon that seems to turn stuggling talented runners (Ritz, Gouchers, Rupp) to run closer to their potential?

I can't really speak for Ritz or Goucher, but I'm pretty sure Rupp grew up in Beaverton (Portland area) and now goes to school in Eugene.

Here is your answer:
http://www.alter-g.com/(I'm 1/2 kidding, but Goucher said he ran a lot on it before his 6th in world cross, and Ritz said he was using it recently to up his mileage to 130 a week WHILE coming back from injury)
This seems like a good idea. I feel like swimmers get to train at such a higher volume then runners. When it comes time to meets like conferences they can swim like 7 different races and PR in every one of them.
Isnt this like a great idea? Or am i just stupid
