it might have been misleading but i never said kobe wasn't a good defender. i don't consider him a great defender. you read into what i said what you wanted to read into it. in any case, jordan was better than kobe across the board.

There really isn't any "might have been" about it. It was definitely misleading, and based upon how staunchly you are defending your deception, it sounds like it was intentional.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. However, it would seem that the consensus opinion amongst the actual NBA head coaches who compete against him implies that you are wrong...

Kobe has been an all defensive first teamer five times. Jordan was all-defensive first team every year after his second season in the league (excluding washington). so, compared to jordan-- if you just want to use all defensive squads as a measuring stick, which is wrong... cuz again, the voting for these are subjective-- kobe is not in jordan's league.
and to further add to the argument, since your arguing seems to imply you feel kobe is the same caliber player as jordan... look at the career stats

also, looking at the most important numbers... playoff stats, here is how they compare.
Jordan Playoff stats- 179 179 41.8 .487 .332 .828 1.70 4.70 6.40 5.7 2.10 .88 3.05 3.00 33.4

You can sift through and decipher them on your own but obviously jordan has the better numbers.

Look, I'm sorry, but this is not rocket science.
Personally, I never said that Kobe was just as good as Jordan defensively (and btw, you can not exclude Washington). However, your cleverly worded post implied that Kobe is not a great defender, and that is simply wrong.
froosbabba wrote:

Yes, it is... just like your rather biased opinion happens to be. However, I'm confident that most people would trust the consensus opinion gathered from the 29 NBA head coaches who compete against him throughout the year over yours.
Fact: he finished with more votes for the NBA All-Defensive team than any other guard in the league. That classifies him as a great defender. To imply otherwise would be naive (to put it politely).

LoL! I hope that you're having fun putting words in my mouth.
My arguing merely implies that I don't appreciate people whose opinion is SO biased that they will intentionally mislead their audience in order to reinforce their slanted point of view.
Once again, it's not rocket science.
yes my opinion is subjective, just as anyone's. the stats don't lie. and fine, throw jordan's two years at washington's in there... his stats while with washington measure up to kobe's careers stats. and, funny, this whole argument started by YOU putting words in MY mouth. i never said kobe wasn't a good defender. i just happened to state jordan was a GREAT defender. you put that into the context you chose to put it into. and the fact that you are taking such offense to those words means you are obviously a bryant fan... if you aren't, then you just like wasting your time which is stupid, to put it unpolitely.
also, you stated "i never said kobe was as good as jordan DEFENSIVELY"... implying you think he is jordan's equal offensively. while you are entitled to your opinion, i ask you to look at career scoring and shooting percentages in order to justify such a belief.
