This would be an awesome shtick poster - the guy who constantly misinterprets the post above his and follows it up with a typical letsrun asshole response. Someone do it.
Maybe runners in the Beaverton area who would like to talk to him since everyone knows hes a nice guy?

Dan Browne will be running, not watching, along with the Gouchers and several other Oregon based world class runners. Should be a good scene if you like watching world class running in a nice setting.
Will there be complimentary Salazar Sauce for everyone who shows up?
who else in Oregon is WC - Ritz, Rupp?
where can i get that saladbar sauce?
Why does Nike suck is it because they are one of the top companies in the U.S. for corporate citizenship, or is because they are probably the largest supporter financially for track and collegiate athletes, or is it because they pony up and completely pay for great HS events such as the NTN and BorderClash. Please let me know cause I think I may be missing something.

Boy, you must be incredibly stupid to believe that, let alone suggest it.

You think Nike does that out of the goodness of its black little heart? Just stop, apologist.
Well I don't think it is just me that actually beleive the fact that over the last several years publications like Forbes, Newsweek and other enteties independent from NIKE have continually ranked Nike in the top companies to work for for corporate citezenship.
I have listed a few of their recent recognition points.
So where are you getting your information do you yourself have a wealth of knowledge that most people outside of the anti Nike clan on this website know about

If you have ever been to the countries in which Nike factories are you will see people lined up at the gates to get jobs in there factories, they ahev some of the best standards in the region. Second lots of people like nike shoes. Given their trainers may not be the best in the industry I find it very hard to find elite track athletes that would rather not wear Nike Spikes. An example would be when Arkansas was not a Nike school the Arkansas athletes tore the swooshes off of there spikes so they could race in the Nike Jassari. I am guessing Nike also exagerated the whole Michael Jordan thing cause that guy was a hack. Michael Johnson too; what a fricken looser, he wasnt even actually good. ANd lets not forget guys like like all the Kenyan athletes that have run for Nike.
The Jassari was a long, long time ago.
Of course Nike signs good athletes, they have alot $$$. Never said their athletes weren't good. They also have some dope to make them better.
The free sucks.
Brooks and Asics make better trainers. The traininers are the meat of the product line. You can't conceed that. Thats like saying Toyota makes hands down better machines, but at least Chevy looks cooler.
Its been a long time since Nike came out with a quality trainer. Their watches suck and are overpriced. All their gear was once cutting edge, but other companies have caught up. Likewise other spikes are catching up too. They do not make the best road flats either.
NY runner wrote:the farm team was a failureOf the sub-elite clubs (Hansons, Wisconsin Runner, Aggies, Transports, etc.), the Farm Team was the only one (I believe) to have an athlete win a national championship and set an american record wearing their jersey. I would take an even money bet that an ex-farm teamer is more likely to make the 2008 olympic team than any current members of the above clubs (no team members=push).
Paul Tergat runs for nike.
And as for NTN who else puts that kind of money into high school athletics and high school kids? You act like Nike does it as some kind of court order. Where do you think Asics and Adidas shoes are made? They are not made in the U.S. nor are they made in western Europe or anywhere else where the cost of labor is similar to what we have here. NY runner you have never actually researched any of this, you don't have any first had experience with any of it either except fot the fact that you prefer trainers that are not Nikes. I personally train in Nikes and being someone who lives in Portland OR I know first hand how much Nike does for its local community and the sport. You act like it is some kind of travesty that a runner like Pre is remembered. You get a bunch of people excited about an athlete, you do what Nike has done for track and then lets talk.
When I ran in high school I ran in the Nike border clash meet it was top rate they treated us like kings. I also ran in the Adidas Border track meet where which was 2nd rate at best. But at least they sponsored a meet for high schoolers I have yet to see and asics or brooks sponsored meet.
Nike > *
I love how everyone says Nike is evil, yet all the other shoe companies do the same shit, if not worse shit that Nike does.
Nike puts on the best meets, and have the best high end racing shoes ---- PERIOD
Q.E.D.

Brooks actually sponsers the WA/OR track version of Borderclash now. which is neither here nor there really. Just an FYI
Brooks does alot of grassroots sponsorship - Nike tools do you have any idea what grassrooots means?
Brooks sponsor this club called Hansons - they are pretty good. They sponsor some other clubs too all across the country and a few in NY. BTW Nike sponsors CPTC which is a joke and shows how clueless Nike is.
Asics sponsors the NYC marathon - I think its a better meet than border clash. You might not know Asics or that it sponsors NYC b/c Nike tries to steal the spotlight by pulling sht like Lance Armstrong or saladbar training P Diddy.
Adidias sponsors the Boston marathon which is like a pretty big meet.
Dunkin Donuts sponsored Penn Relays this year.
Lets get back to their products -
The bottom line is that one of your fellow Nike Tools admitted that they don't make the best trainers. Beyond that other companies have caught up to them in terms of gear. Their watches suck. Brooks and Asics make better road flats.
Great! Then use Brooks and Asics. Don't think Nike is going to go broke without you. I will use Nike because I like their flats, spikes, and trainers.I am sure you feel this way as well, but your opinion really means nothing to me.

So what if they do? Who asked them to? Nike's involvement with h.s. stuff doesn't look very pure, in fact it looks like a pointless marketing scheme and is a big step in turning xc and track into something ridiculously overdone like youth soccer in the US. It's sad adults living vicariously through kids and not thinking about what's really in the best interest of the kids.
