Did he go out too fast?
Did he go out too fast?
HAPPENED, not HAPPEN.
People do this all the time, and I'm really not sure why. It's definitely not a typo, it's just that people have a very weak grasp of our language and don't understand past tense at all.
London Update:
Ryan Hall had a great day today with the fastest American debut ever for marathon. Unfortunately, the other Americans had a tough day at the office as Meb, khannouchi, Hartman did not finish and Fasil walked in at 2:29.
The heat was a factor. For Fasil, he is reevaluating his prep and will run another day. He is obviously very dissapointed and I am also dissapointed for him. He probably should have not finished as finishing might have caused more damage than good. Knowing Fasil, that good marathon effort is not far away and he will hammer one down soon. The Olympic Marathon Trials are in Nov. and the buildup to them is going to be exciting.
Thanks for everyone that guessed a time and followed the London Marathon. Despite Fasil's dissapointment, it has been amazing to be here. Fasil, me, and several friends will probably be partying (if we can convince Fasil to do so) until we leave on Tuesday.
Can anyone suggest a good pub in London?
I will send $50 to erinflittatbellsouth.com as she is the winner of the contest....

Ironic, the pessimistic nay sayer gets paid!!! Too bad for Fasil he should have DNFed and saved his fitness for another day.
He ran the first half in 65 but obviously he is not a 2:10 Marathoner and so crashed.
