Hall can still run well on the track, if he recovers.
He has run around 13:16/5000 and he should be capable of going close to what Salazar ran (13:11) or better. I would put his potential for the 5000 at between 13:06 to 13:10 but he will need to work his track speed, and I hope he does not fall into the trap of just doing marathons now, as that would be a mistake.
Remember, Stefano Baldini was only a 13:20/27:43 type runner, and I think Hall is intrinsically faster than Baldini.
I think Hall is more talented than Salazar, but Salazar was probably one of the toughest runners on a psychological level. Hall is not bad either, as shown by his run in London.
A question: Do you think Hall lacked confidence to go with the lead runners in the last coupld of km, or did he really not have anything left in his tank?
