ABDI FUCKING ROCKS
Correct me if i'm wrong, the guy who won is from eritea, Mebs old country this makes meb number two if he was running for them. maybe if meb stayed there he would be running 13:11 too
hehehehehehee
Robison is 23
Belz previous best was 13:34, huge PR. His best result at a worlds was 18th at world short this march. His best steeple is 8:22.

A 22-second improvement at 28 yrs old at that level- that certainly is worth noting- perhaps even "red-flagging".
Easy boys!
There is no standard for the marathon as long at the country enters 5 athletes for a world cup team. The placing at USAT&F Nationals takes higher precedents over any time one runs this year. Kennedy could go 12:58 and since he could not do it at the National Championships, he does not go unless someone else at the Nationals in the 5k gets the A standard too. Torres already had the B standard this year and was already going unless he and Goucher both run the A or Goucher runs the B and goes as the higher placer from nationals. Broe is taking the summer off and has no intention of chasing the standard. It is the same in the 1500, so Lunn is the only US entrant, not Robinson or anyone else.
Cuper
This A and B thing is confusing. Is this the same thing with the Olympics?
Robison is definetly turning 25 soon. Not that that matters. 3:35 is great to see after a 3:40 PR back in June. Way to go! It'll fun to see just how versatile he is in the years to come.
I need to correct myself from before:
It seems the 3 current 5K entrants for the WC's are Torres, BK and Abdi, in that order. This is based on their USATF finishes and the fact that they're the only ones with the "B" standard.
I forgot Abdi before.
A country can only send more than one athlete if they all meet the "A" standard. With only "B"'s or even a mix of both, 3 from the US will not be going.

How many can go then, if only "B" standards have been met?
Just one entrant per country when the athletes have only the B standard. Right now it is Torres because of his place at Nats. But if Goucher gets the B and 2 others do not get the A he would go. Broe would also take priority over the others but since he is not racing for the rest of the summer it really doesn't matter.

Get a freaking clue, cool guy...Robison turns 25 in September.
Right now is a good time to put an exclamation point on BK's 12:58:
We should NOT mention that record with every top U.S. collegian that comes along. Our top Americans are close to 30 seconds slower, with a WC berth on the line.
I have said it before and will say it again: Goucher, Torres and Ritz will not even sniff that record. Goucher's 5K PR will not exceed what he already did a few years ago, while Torres and Ritz will never be closer than 15+ seconds from it. In fact, they have to fight hard just to run their 1500m faster than BK's 3000m PR pace.

To shorten this post:
Kennedy was/IS a FUCKING STUD

Broe is the only one who could go if only one other guy gets the A standard. Since Broe is out of the picture, however, things change.
I haven't a clue where you're getting this from.
Broe, since he won the 'trials' only goes if he gets at least the B standard.
Kennedy does not go if he is the only one who gets the A standard.
Currently Torres is the only US rep because he is the highest placing runner at USATF who has met the B standard. If a country is to enter more than one entrant ALL of those entrants must meet the A standard to a maximum of 4 assuming a Wild Card.
If Goucher gets a B then he is the sole rep because be beat Torres.
Who is this "We" you are speaking for? T'ain't me.
"I have said it before and will say it again:...Goucher's 5K PR will not exceed what he already did a few years ago,..."
Generally, a person sets a PR by going faster than their current PR--exceeding a PR is seldom worthy of note--except in a "B" race in Lithuania.
Sorry Wally. Hope you're having a freakin good day.
Make that 24 not 23 but not 25 yet.
