I'm trying to start a free weekly community summer track series at a local public school track without having to pay $75/hr rental fee. I need to prove to a facilities committee that this will be a benefit to the school and the local community. The XC coach supports it. I've already been turned down once by the committee. I'll pay for the USATF insurance.
Promote fitness in the local community through weekly track competition.
Provide xxx Cross Country runners with weekly speed sessions. The XC team does summer training 4 days per week. Head XC coach xxx said his runners could utilize these track sessions to keep their speed sharp while building their running volume over the summer.
Provide the only venue for adult runners to compete in track in Tulsa.
Provide youth track athletes a longer competition season. Currently the youth track club season lasts only about 1 month before athletes have to start qualifying for regional and national meets. Many youth track athletes are either unable to meet the regional qualifying standards or cannot afford to travel to competitions in other states.
Any other ideas would be appreciated.
