I just read that the second day of the Colonial Relays was canceled due to a "driving snowstorm". Does anybody have firsthand knowledge of how bad the storm actually was and if the cancellation was justified. When I was at William and Mary, the second day was also canceled (was in 1999 or 2000 - can't remember exactly) due to rain. Many coaches and athletes were upset that Stimson had decided to do this and some even organized their own unofficial race with Gerard firing the starter's pistol. Unless it was a Mt. Everest type storm, I don't think this is a good manner in which to bring back the relays after their multi-year absence.
