Instead of posting results, the race organizers probably hit Bourbon Street and are now recovering from massive hangovers. It's what I would have done if I were in NOLA.
No "overall finish" results from website or local paper. Yet. The Times-Picayune has story and pics this morning. Great finish pic of Bill Rodgers in the slideshow.
CCC is a pt2pt course and miles 2 or so to mile 5 was run into strong north headwind.
Here's a couple of snips from the Times-Picayune race article:
"John Korir (who was favored to win the race) was a late scratch because of fatigue, according to race directors."
Overall**************
"23-year-old George Misoi bounced back and forth through a pack of elites but crossed the finish line first with a time of 28 minutes, 15 seconds. He narrowly defeated fellow Kenyans Nicholas Kamakya and Linus Maiyo and Ethiopia's Tadesse Tola in a sprint to the finish. Kamakya finished second in 28:17, and Maiyo placed third with the same time. Tola crossed fourth in 28:19."
Women****************
"Ethiopia's Teyba Erkesso, who recently had a world-record time at the Cherry Blossom 10-mile run, led the Classic women's field in 32:08. Kenya's Emily Chebet (32:14) placed second and Russia's Tatyana Petrova (32:31) finished third."
Master's men***************
"Utah's Dennis Simonaitis led the men's masters (over 40) field with a time of 31:04. Sean Wade, who was seeded first in the masters race, was a late scratch. Following Simonaitis were Kenya's Gideon Mutisya (32:40), Oklahoma's Ron Parks (34:00), Canada's Norm Tinkham (34:17) and Minnesota's Paul Giannobile (34:38)."
