Let's hope that turns out better for NW than Beth Alford Sullivan did for Penn State. Worthless, indeed, she is.
wonder why she left in the first place?
what use is your post other than to rip on someone irrelevant to the discussion.
more interesting would be to find out why NU STILL doesn't have a men's team. ridiculous.
She said in the article it was because of relocation.
The women's Big 10 xc will continue to dominate right past the men's big ten at this rate. Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and MSU and now NU to work toawrds top 10 at Nationals.
It is a little thing called Title IX.. the very same reason why they HAVE a women's team..
I was an undergraduate, but not a collegiate athlete, at Northwestern when it got rid of its men's and women's track and X-C teams. It was all part of then president Arnold Weber's plans to get the school on more solid financial footing. For some reason, of all the non-revenue generating sports, these were the ones to go. There were some pretty solid runners on the team. I know the top miler transferred to Stanford with no problem. The athletic director at the time resigned. Not sure of the gritty details, but that's it in broad strokes. I was surprised to learn that NU had reinstated its women's X-C to varsity status some years back. That probably had something to do with title IX.
