Soundsfamiliar. Similiar situation where 2 teammates started getting serious (at least she says it's a "serious relationship"). Unfortunately though, the guy broke the brotherhood code of Bros B4 Hos. Friendships were destroyed and team dynamics are all messed up now. Some times it feels like the team is one big soap opera.
I don't know if I agree with the hookup. Personally, if I were a captain of a team, only if the girl was the one I wanted to marry and spend the rest of my life with, I would not have made the decision to start a serious thing with a teammate especially when a friendship and the morale of the team was at stake. Soon enough the attraction will fade and the relationship will end in time and in the end was it really worth it to mess up a team?
For me, if it's the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with then you break the Bros B4 Hos brotherhood. Otherwise it's not worth it and you lose some great friendships become estranged from them and the team. Peace and bold out.

On a team there are two runners that recently hooked up and became f--ck buddies because they can't do any better
Both are losers facing a thirties crisis of younger more able bodies beating them in local races
One was in the midst of a divorce and cheated on her husband of a few years
The the other can't hold onto a chic longer than a week or two and can't find it within himself to grow up
Both were lonely
Both were in desparate need of a f--ck
Both couldn't do any better
Both depend and rely on running as a means to build their self-esteem because they failed miserably in their careers and in their personal lives
Both think their the shi-ts on the local running scene
Both are self-absorbed
One day they ran with each other and agreed that it was too much of an effort to go out looking for someone to f-ck
A convenient lazy way to get laid they agreed to the agreement that since they saw each other at weekly runs, can train and run together, why not f--ck each other too?
Or better yet said, two people who can't do any better finally found each other
It is a pathetic but laughable union of two low lifes in a running community
