I have some pain in the inside of my right foot that appears to be the result of my running. I've been running regularly for about seven months. I've been careful to follow training guidelines and haven't increased my mileage more than 10% each week.
I first experienced this pain after a 10-mile run last week. It's sort of a dull throbbing pain that seems to occur most when I finish running. In fact, the next day, I had pain when climbing the stairs.
At first, I thought it was arch pain, so I went out and got arch support inserts, but they don't seem to have helped.
I ran an 8K race today and had the same issue. The foot hurt most about 30 minutes after the race. Several hours later the pain has mostly subsided.
This is not debilitating pain, but I'm concerned that it might get worse. I made an appointment with a podiatrist, but he can't see me for two weeks. I'm hoping that someone on this forum can help me get an idea of what I'm facing and what I should do in the meantime. I really don't want to stop running, so any alternative ideas are welcome :)
The pain feels like it's on the bottom (underneath) a bone on the inside of my right foot. A picture of my foot is below. I made a black spot using a marker so you can get an idea of where the pain seems to exist.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
