How about Glen Sparrow returning to UNC as a coach?
How about Glen Sparrow returning to UNC as a coach?
Sad to see the hard feelings regarding the track program. Carolina is great school! Many of us had many great years in Chapel Hill.
everytime i read this thread i lol.
not for dumb move they don't. He'd know how to spell absurd if he went to classes.

Clay Ragan ran unattached. The local paper reported the time and had the UNC listing beside his name. Whatever, the kid is still running.
I heard he is transfering to VIC.
Its an entire team of frusterated athletes. The athletes who are getting kicked off/quit are usually under the following categories:
1. Individuals who start running poorly because they are forced to run hurt, sick or just have poor training, and the coaches are looking to blame it on something else
2. Start feeling like they are so far from their potential that they have to find other things in life to compensate for their lack of success in running while they are doing everything to try and stay competitive OR
3. Speak up about their training and ways they could improve and get told they have egos, lose a little bit of faith in the program, and result in pissing the coaches off.
Amazing school, the way the athletes are treated is a shame.
Come run for us.
This is the bottom line 90% is the athlete and perhaps 10% is the coach regarding if one is successful or not in distance running as long as you follow sound basic training princpals which I am confident that UNC does. This thread is simply a pathetic reflection on a bunch of UNC whiners.Hey nobody gives a screaming shit who your or mine coach is or was(I had four in college).....all we ask and care about is how fast and what did you accomplish/win.Once you starting crying about the coach we just stop listening.
Unless your coach was Bowerman or John McDonald along with your sorry ass excuses no one gives a hot diggdy dog leaping lizard shit in the bucket.

They don't want to hear that b/c this thread is just a bunch of UNC has-beens or never-weres that think they have some sort of entitlement to be considered a runner.
Any decent runner can run faster than any of these guys off of basic training. UNC is a joke, and even if it is the coach, I blame the runners who sound like a bunch of Sallies.
Coach Whit can be the worst coach in the world, but the one thing this thread confirms is that he was right to kick your slow, fat, whining asses off the team.
You are just a bunch of losers who don't have a shred of athletic ability. Even fat kids at D3 schools with no coach run faster than most of you guys. I think it is something more than the coaching....
Ok, look, I understand what you're saying. but the fact is Reagan wasn't cut because he failed a test... after a couple of chances, he didn't complete all 20 of his study hall hours. Whether or not the kids at UNC are good runners is up to them. But someone posting anonymously on some random unimportant site doesn't have the right to criticize their running or try to take the value out of all the hard work they did training to get where they were.
And coach whit isn't a bad coach, he just can't coach everyone. Each person needs a completely unique environment for their running style and work potential in order to become the best. Coach Whit just isn't the best for all the people he recruits. That's not a down in overall coaching, but in recruiting and in knowing your coaching style.
Why did you bring up this thread over a year after it died?
The person you're responding to wrote that over a year ago!
