On the men's side its easily Khalid Khannouchi with his
WR beating Haile and Paul. Khalid Khannouchi victory was
so impressive he can run 2:10 and place 5th and still be
in Track and Field News top 3 for the marathon end of the year rankings. Chicago will have the honor of seeing Khalid post another fast time and make him the first American to rank #1 in the marathon since Joan Benoit Samuelson.
Honorable Mention: Krummenaker (800/1500), Meb (10,000m),
and Tim Montgomery (100m)
On the women's side Gail Devers (100H) is slightly ahead
of Deena Drossin (10,000m); however, if Deena popped a 2:25
in Chicago or better she'll get my nod over Gail.
Honorable Mention: Suzy Favor (1500m), A. Norgren-Mahon (HT), and predictable Marion Jones (100m/200m/400m).
