What about the fact that he is donating the $25,000 WR bonus to charity? As a man with only a few good (albiet amazing) performances, I doubt that he is such a rich man yet. To do this shows a special character.

It does show a special character in him donating the prize money to charity but i dont think that he is poor. He obviously doesnt think that the money will help him in getting better so he has decided that he doesnt need it. He might have a fear of becoming too greedy like Daniel Komen and then losing the talent that he posseses
On the 20th May Samuel Wanjiru, Zersenay Tadesse and Micah Kogo are all taking part in the Great Manchester run which is over 10K.
What do you think about the possibilities of Gebrselassies 10K world record being broken.
Kogo has allready ran a 27:07 this year which is only 5 seconds off of the current world best.
Wanjiru has never really raced over the 10K distance on th rods with a personal best of 28:09 which is relatively useless saying that hs split a 27:27 on route to his 58:35 half marathon world record.
Tadesse won this event last year in 27:36 but has also had some brilliant runs at the half marathon distance.,
Overall Kogo has the fastest 10,000m PB which ranks him 6th on the all time lists but their PB's are all within 6 seconds of each other. Both Tadesse and Kogo settheirs last year with Wanjiru setting his in 2005 so it probably doesnt represent his current best.
All three have it within their capabilities but if they are on pace who will have the confidence and strength to break away from the others or if it comes down to a sprint finish who will come out on top?
My bet is that Kogo would win if it came down to a sprint finish but i dont think that either Tadesse or Wanjiru will want to end it that way so i reckon that Wanjiru will try and run the legss off of the other two.
who is sammy wanjuru?
