"Mistakes were made"
This comment is meaningless. Tell me exactly what mistakes were made, what YOU did and why it was wrong.
"Responsibility stops here"
What does that mean? Are you trying to make yourself sound so noble that you are covering for some one under you that erred? So what is the consequence, are you taking a pay cut, suspending yourself, asking for an external investigation, resigning? What does this mean?
NPR had a segment on this today. It was pretty funny as they had audio clips of the last 4 presidents using the infamous "mistakes were made" line. I believe G.W.Bush added to the line and said "mistakes were made... and I am not happy about it" haha.
I think the segment might be on this in a couple of hours for your listening pleasure.
They aren't 'taking responsibility'. IT'S ALL BULLSH*T FROM THIS CREW.
Taking responsibility means RESIGNING when you f*ck up. It does in the private sector. These guys keep using the ENRON excuse: "my subordinates did not keep me informed".
BULLSH*T. As a manager it's your JOB to GET informed, that's why f*cking CEO's get so much money today, RIGHT?
