so does anyone know if anne st. geme will be back in time for spring track or will she not rush things and just try to get back for xc? she was such a great runner as a senior in h.s and is obviously very talented. i can't wait to see what kind of times she can throw down in college!

That race ranks right at the top of my list of highlights of the races that I have seen live (and I can think of few that are on that level in all of the races that I have seen on TV). What a treat it was to be there. Note, the picture is from the finish of the 1984 OT race in the 1500 in the LA Coliseum; winning time about 4:00.1 and Decker was trying to pass Ruth repeatedly for the entire last portion of the race -- seems like it was 500m but was probably 300m starting with coming off the turn into the back stretch.
