UKA -damned if they do or if they don't? Seems they can get slated here for supposedly namby pambying the runners - but if they didn't spend the time reeceing all the relevant factors and the squads performances next w/end suffered as a result they'd get slated for having professional staff and not doing a professional research/planning job!
My guess is that - and this isn't exactly athletic-specific, - going on short overseas trips that include long haul flights and sometimes several hours time zone changes, isn't always an unremitting joy to those who do it.
A look at the entry list for Saturday shows that in this particular event - and yes it is only a 3-4 week spell out of a 52 week year - our XC runners have been the best supported in Europe so we should at least acknowledge that.Recent years results suggest that the race will be an absolute *%^%stard however well prepared they are so, having chosen to take full teams, surely better to at least try and cover all the bases in the immediate build up, as they are doing.
