She will obliterate the WR!
She will obliterate the WR!
dick
3rd best time outdoor and indoor..wow
LOL SPOILERPWN3D
It's true, she blew open that race and ran 14:27. Amazing! It'll be on television.
short track
no
Yet another example of a WR in a solo performance.
and solo at that. i would like to see how tirunesh dibaba and meseret defar would do in a mixed race where the men have 5k best's of 1410-1440 for 5k, i would guess t. dibaba and defar could go sub 1420 easy.
And Defar will still obliterate her in races without rabbits, like at WC in Japan and in Beijing at the Olympics. Sort of reminds me a little of Tergat, a stud in controlled races (outside of xc) but usually faltered against better racers otherwise. Geb is the master of both pacing and racing, but maybe his ability is so superior to his peers' (in his prime) that it allowed him to win against whatever tactics were thrown his way. Hopefully he will run the WC marathon this year.
actually dibaba has outkicked defar several times in non-controlled championship and non-championshis events lastyear.
I don't care about non-championships, but Defar still has the superior record in championships.
sorry but dibaba has the much superior competitive record.
both are outstanding runners and t. dibaba is great
Sorry but you're wrong.

Putting it together:
Defar over Dibaba at the IAAF WAF 2006 3000m.
Dibaba over Defar at IAAF WAF 2006 5000m.
Defar over Dibaba at African Champs '06 5000m.
Defar over Dibaba at IAAF WAF 2005 5000m.
Dibaba at Defar at World Champs 2005 5000m.
Defar over Dibaba at 2004 Olympics 2004 5000m.
Dibaba over Defar at 2003 World Champs (Dibaba won, Defar didn;t make it out of the heat)
Defar over Dibaba at World Juniors 5000m.
Dibaba over Defar at World Cross Juniors.
marginally. it is 5-4 Defar over Dibaba.
Counting some of the Euro GP meets last year makes sense though since there was the Golden League money onthe line and so was a pressure-cooker for Dibaba.
Defar is short again. She's run the same time three times.. I hope this time she wasn't prevented by the lapped runner.
The american girl Flanagan .. run very well. what is her previous personal best.

It was prevented because defar ruined the race. She went out in around 30 flat and slowed and motioned to the pacers BEHIND her to take the lead and kept pushing the pace behind them and they went througbh 400 in 63-64 seconds and maintained that through about 600 meters before slowing. She then went well of record pace before picking it up when Flanagan saved the race from falling apart.

I don't see Defar and Flanagan in here. What race is that you are talking about.
