This is an incredible deal for the store and speaks to the mentality of the people on that team. No other store in the country could get away with charging anything, let alone that kind of money. I hear if you win money at races they keep that as well. This all makes sense when you see the kinds of people who would allow themselves to be taken advantage of like that. Couldn't FF at least hire a coach with all those "great" runners? It sounds like there won't be any coach just someone to say, go run some mile repeats or go run a 20 miler. Great coaching.

You don't seem to understand...what you listed are the VALUES for those services/discounts, not what it costs Fleet Feet to provide them.
Does it matter? Are you running the books? A person choose a team should be looking at what they get for the money not if the team is getting a kick back. What kind of value are you getting for your money? I have been on several teams and I have never once thought well I wonder what the team is getting from me? How about teams that don't belong to a store? They must be rolling in the doe.
There are performance standards for the team. You hit one you get $$$ or gift certs.
The owner of Hot Yoga is not a coach.

OK, let me see if I can finally make myself clear. I am not bashing the club or any members. I don't know anything about the drama between the two splinter clubs or who is going where and doing what. I don't know who the new coach is and don't give a hoot about the old coach one way or another. I am not even asserting that it might not be a bargain. Just that I don't understand why the fees are high considering that the club is not likely run for profit. I have been in the PA for a long time, and I do know that the only other high dues team has traditionally been the Impalas who pay their coach and offer a lot of benefits to their members.
Let's liken this to the Sunday paper. I know if I pay $1.50 I can get coupons worth $10 to $20 worth of grocery items. So, even if they charged $8 it might be a good deal. However, since I know other newspapers go for $1.50 to $2 I would want to know why they were charging $8.
The club organizers have done an excellent job of lining up sponsors and donors. But none of those items are realy costing the club anything. If they get 50 members, that's over $6K in the kitty. I'd want some entry fees comped, travel reimbursement, something. Even entry into their own XC race is only discounted, not free, and that's another money making venture for the club. On a team like West Valley, reimbursement for one or two races gives you back more than you pay in dues. Other clubs like Tamalpa have extensive infrastructures and events and dues are 20 bucks. All the clubs like the Striders and Excelsior manage to put together organized workouts while charging a fraction of the amount.
Just as Randy was the coach is paid. You want a cheap no frills club join the Rebels. Who cares. I look at what I get for the money and I think it's worth it. Is there something else that matters?
See how easy that was? I ask "why does it cost so much?" and you say "we pay the coach". Thanks for finally answering my question. Hope you get a good one.
See you at the races.
You don't get people to coach 150 people out of the goodness of their heart.
But it comes all the way full circle to the original question, "What is the coachs experience and qualifications?" If the coach is paid then he must have some qualifications that make him worth paying. But what are they? No one has answered that one. We don't even know the coachs name. But Im glad that he is paid. I'm just asking simple questions and all we get is defensive posturing and attitude. I don't understand why.
Compare them to Randy's (former coach) qualifications and they don't have to be much. Just read a running book and get the workouts from there.
Daniel's Running Formula = $25Membership to FF = $125

Randy's income from the team = ?
Please note that Randy isn't the coach anymore.

Sure Dude, but for the 4th or 5th time, what are these qualifications??
Why don't you say you don't know or that FF hasn't let anyone know?
This thread is ridiculous. Trying to get something factual out of FF is like pulling teeth.
Sorry I thought my previous post would be an indication that I didn't know. So here you go. I don't know. Like I said before they don't have to be much to equal Randy.
I joined Fleet Feet because of the girls.
I will admit that.
They are great to have around.
Are these girls the horny housewives that were previously mentioned?

Well at least they won't be shelling out much cash since no one on the FF team can hit those standards.
Damn!
No wonder they dominate.
