So this kid took 10 days off after his XC season where he did really good. He comes back and runs 5 days of easy running like 30-40 mins a day and races 6 days in a 4:30.3 mile. In Xc he was running 15:40ish on a fast course and could probally run 15:20 for 5k on a track or so. He was previously a 4:32 miler in the spring season. Is this a really fast time since he hadnt done any workouts amnd took a lot of time off? Or does it make sense because he was fresh and hadnt run any races ro workouts ina long time and therefore his legs were completely rested and ready to race. I was discussing this with a friend and a coach. Opinions?
