I am a miler at a division 1 college and we started anearobic workouts on November 23rd and we have been doing workouts like 2 by 600 in 1:30 with like 3 minutes rest or 3 by 500 in 60 second pace with 3 minutes rest. Shouldnt we be rebuilding a base and doing longer repeats or tempo runs? we dont start competition until mid-january. Can anyone tell me if this is right or wrong, or are we just gonna tire out come outdoor? Please help.
