Whey Protein?

I'm looking to add some mass to my skinny body, nothing crazy, and was thinking about trying out a supplement such as Whey. I lift about 3-4 times a week and wanted to take something that wouldn't give me just tons of sugar, etc.

Any opinions on Whey and if its a solid choice? I saw other things out such as XXX Body Mass or something like that through GNC but it seems like its all sugars of somesort.

As you can tell, I don't know a tremendous amount about supplements, so any insight would be great, thanks!

All any bodybuilder (or anyone trying to get big the right way) needs in terms of supplements is some whey and creatine (and the creatine is debatable). Everything else is just useless fluff.

eat eggs, all the time, non stop.

eggs are the protein source that all others are compared to.

For a lot of people trying to bulk up, no. Besides, whey protein is as cheap as it gets per gram of protein (unless you buy it from GNC), even cheaper than eggs. Meat tends to be pricey, especially for the college student.

And to the last poster, yes, eggs are the "gold standard" of protein in terms of bioavailability/completeness.

Eggs are surpassed by whey and other milk proteins in both bioavailability and effectiveness for increasing LBM/decreasing catabolism. IIRC, only about 80% of cooked egg protein is actually utilized, less if uncooked. It's still a great source of protein, and egg yolks are valuble for other reasons, however...
