D1 does that.
D1 does that.
it seems that cu is trying to create it's own legend. i think that is dangerous stuff, especially for a team that wants desperatley to win nationals, but has never done so. best of luck.
can gonzales,an apostle of the vigil-adams state legacy, defeat the four-year strecth of vic's simmons?
maybe. although current adams head martin's squad dropped the ball in dII nationals last year. it looks like a lot of pressure on cu's young squad. what will their secret be. focus? determination? getting ready for the big party if they are to win? wine and women?
Why are Schools like Lindenwood ranked 14 when there 3rd guy is 27:43, and the 5th guy is well in the 29's, and they are ranked 14th I don't care how hard the corse is your 5th guy should not be running in the 29's and you get a 14th ranking. AN MidAmerica Nazarene is ranked 10th with
1 #521 Too, Noah MidAmerica Nazarene 5:13.4 25:57.77
#516 Kioko, Francis MidAmerica Nazarene 5:31.1 27:25.79 4
5 #522 Tooh, Simion MidAmerica Nazarene 5:31.7 27:28.58 5
9 #514 Henry, Dallas MidAmerica Nazarene 5:39.2 28:05.7
15 #525 Wieczorek, Mark MidAmerica Nazarene 5:49.9 28:59.19
I don't think that those times are the times of a team that should be ranked 10th unless there corse was ranked a 4.5 or higher. Can some one tell me how hard this corse was ranked thanks.

One of my friends who runs for LU said the conditions were basically horrible. Plus anybody who ranks solely based on times shouldnt be responsible for ranking cross country teams. Every course is different and times will always vary. To be honest you shouldnt run consistant times throughout xc if its a real xc race every meet i.e. muddy, cold/hot, tough course. What matters is placing amongst individuals and teams.
how is albertson ranked 12th? on a course as fast as willamette they only put 2 guys under 26:30...their first guy only 25:19 (which is good, but that course was running FAST that day)

http://athletics.cu-portland.edu/ndetail.cfm?news_id=2357
- is this actually the only reason they are ranked so high? cuz they beat concordia (who appears to be a MUCH stronger team) by two points on a course monitor's error?
http://athletics.cu-portland.edu/stats/stats_093006170543.htm
these are the willamette results, where concordia oregon beat Albertson by 2 minutes in the toal team time, and by 130 ish points. This region just seems all messed up. SFU, who went from being ranked 6th to now not getting any votes, beat UBC earlier this year, and UBC beat Albertson at this race. Now because of an error by a course monitor Albertson beat Concordia, and now is ranked 12th while Concordia has fallen back and SFU and UBC aren't even ranked any more?
It's a very competitive division, I imagine we could see as many as 5 of the 6 big teams ranked after regionals, but the rankings right now are pretty skewed.
Wow, about time they got these up
Shawnee State is a lot better than teams in the top 25 right now...It will be really sad if some of these schools make it in there and SSU does not.
Yeah well, as long as they knock off some ranked teams at regionals, they have a pretty good shot of going, right?

I am wondering about that too. Because they're ranking AFTER regionals this year, does that mean that if you beat a ranked team you basically get to go, assuming that they don't totally bomb and get beat by EVERY team. I mean it would obviously be messed up if you were unranked and beat a ranked team and that team remained ranked and you stayed out of the top 25.
I wish Shawnee State good luck with that. The only ranked teams in their region are Malone and Cedarville, both of which are on another level and have beaten Shawnee State a few times already this season. Roberts Wesleyan, who has received some votes, is also in the region, but beating them won't help.
Shawnee will have to get third(which they can do easily in my opinion) and be close to Cedarville and then just pray that the voters will put them in there.
not sure about that. i was AA in naia xc and was top 30. so just shoot for that. try to be in the top 20-25 with 1.5 miles to go and you'll be fine.
Our junior college team made LCSC's team drop like 8 rankings because we beat them 2 weeks in a row. But in their defense our team is one of the best in the nation.
Not necessarily in defense of L&C, but SFCC also beat Albertson and EOU by just about the same margin. I think there were only 3 points separating Albertson, LC and EOU in this meet. Albertson probably moved up because of beating LC (Was ranked #10) and both schools took a hit because of how close EOU was to them. A team that has not been ranked nor received votes all year (until this week).
Region I looks like it will be a big race with the three teams at the top all having beaten each other this year. Albertston beat LC in first meet of the year, Concordia beat LC at Sundodger, LC beat both Albertson and Concordia at Willamette. Albertson Beat Concordia at regional preview (CU runner misdirected). Albertson beat LC in last meet.
On another interesting note, the region I meet is in LaGrande. SHould give EOU a home course advantage.

Lots of fast junior colleges out there. Made up of guys not smart enough to get into a real school.

Runnerboy9999, Noah Too is a 24:00 guy, and Kioko is a 24:50 guy. Simion is ~25:00. MidNaz's other runners have run much faster as well. Do a little research and you will find that weather conditions (38', 20mph wind, rain) made Graceland's course a virtual slip'n'slide, and miserable to boot. Look at the placement of LU's runners in comparison with MidNaz's guys instead of just their times. Their relative placement to MidNaz is why they are ranked 14th. Good luck at Nationals, runnerboy9999 (if you are there).
Yes MidAmerica is ranked to high. I agree that their top three are outstanding but you can’t expect to do well with the times that their 4 and 5 runners and running. Just look at these results from a very fast course and another hard course.
NAIA Midstates Classic
1 Noah Too 24:05
2 Francis Kioko 24:57
3 Simion Tooh 25:23
4 Dallas Henry 26:28
5 Mark Wieczorek 27:20
Oklahoma State
1 Noah Too 25:00
2 Francis Kioko 26:17
3 Simion Tooh 26:26
4 Mark Wieczorek 27:47
5 Dallas Henry 28:28

I was at the Graceland meet and I can tell you that it was the worst conditions I have ever seen. In addition to the horrible weather it was a new course and there was more dirt than grass to run on which made it nothing but MUD. DEEP MUD. All times were way off. Look at placings. Ultimately that is all that matters.
Mariposa School of Applied Textiles is for real! i raced those guys last year and they are nothing but legs! My money is on them!
