He supports breaking and entering to find drugs? WEJO, move to singapore asshole. Let the drug thing go, OK. Let people do what they want to do to be who they want to be. WEJO you're a close minded ignoramous.

I am sorry, I will totally agree with Weldon on this issue.
The only thing that will get rid of drugs in our sport is to allow the police to enter the residences, cars and hotel rooms of the athletes and their minions (coaches, doctors, massage therapists, etc.)
That and JAIL TIME will get rid of drugs in our beloved sport.

Not sure where you got your info from above since I haven't been on the boards all week.
But I don't see why the above would make me close minded. Just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean they're close minded.
But I've got no problem with athletes at meets having their bags, rooms, etc searched for drugs. Hell, I wouldn't even mind if they started searching people's houses. They already make me stand in front of another man, show him my penis (yes you have to show it to them to make sure you're not using a fake sample), and pee into a cup. If you ask me it's an acceptable price to pay for trying to make a drug free sport.
While I would love to get rid of all the drugs in our sport I don't think allowing their residences to be entering and tossed around at will is excessive, and most people would be very angry if such things were happening to them.
I would do anything I could to prove that I wasn't guilty of cheating. Cheating should be eradicated from the sport. ALl caught should be banned for life, and all records striped from them, a harsh example is the best way to get it to stop.
Cheating, lying , going to other countries to kill people, killing fellow citizens, committing large scale bisuness fraud
is our American right. Please don't take this away from us.
G.W. Bush
George W Bush enjoys that sort of activity immensely....
I wish that we could bring back my kindred spirit, Bill Clinton....all he wanted to do was get laid!!!
WEJO is a self-serving blow-hole. He acts like his 4th place finish at USAs is like setting the world record. One question, name me (without looking) the last three people who finished 4th place in the 10k at USAs...my point exactly.
where did u come in usa'a then harry? better than 4th i assume??
jail time hasn't gotten rid of drugs in america, why should that risk clear up drugs in sports
There is a simple formula for getting rid of drugs:
Penalty for using drugs > benefits from drugs.
I don't have all of the info, but in 2001 a guy name Weldon Johnson finish 4th in the 10k, does that help.

The more I read about you little runts, the more I'm convinced that every one of you is gay little fairy. ha ha hahaha.
Ah, Deterrence Theory. Well, as a masters in criminology I must tell you that Deterrence Theory is crap. The formula is actually more like:
(Criminals expectations of getting caught)+(Criminals expectations of being punished)+(Criminals awareness of the rules)+(Criminals expectaions of the severity of the punishment) > (Benefit)
The expectations of getting caught and punished severely are so small, that the benefits don't even have to be that great in order to outweight them.
I can see some sense behind this point but then again if you want to be very severe then it must be absoolutely clear what you consider a performance enhancing drug to be. Should nutritonal supplements such as creatinine also be included on the banned substances list ? What about the many drugs which are used to change the constitution of the blood to help improve oxygen delivery that have not yet been categorised as "illegal" ? What about hypobaric oxygen tents ?
It is fair that you want the sport to be drug free and that you want perfomances in athletics to be a true reflection of ability, intelligent hard training, careful planning etc. However, as far as I can see today, there are several things that you can use which are "legal" and these can contribute to an improvement in performance level by the athlete on top of the good training, good use of your natural environment, diet and rest etc.
What is fair and what is unfair at the moment is in fact very unclear when one looks at all the practises that are considered acceptable by the IAAF. It is in fact quite hard to classify competitors as those who are "dirty rotten drug cheats" and those who are "good honest hard working and talented athletes".
You people are so stupid. You spend all sorts of time whining about how world records aren't legit, nobody's "clean", blah blah blah, but when you hear about someone actually trying to STOP people from BREAKING THE RULES, you whine about their tactics. Blood samples, house checks, urine samples, showing people your penis... these are not huge sacrifices. Stop whining and deal. Being a top athlete isn't ALL perks, sometimes you have to respond to authority to make sure you aren't a cheater.
I applaud Wejo because he hates drugs in our sport and he is willing to go to any distance to prevent them from ruining it. That's a REAL man. Why should he be scared of house checks, penis checks, and the like? He's clean. He has nothing to worry about in that department, unless Mr. Chest is the guy examining his penis, in which case he is going to have to make sure he doesn't bite.
So, let's see, many of you are on the verge of chucking out many of our Constitutional rights in order to catch a few cheaters. (I know, I know, having lived in Europe...they don't have the Constitution over there which is why the police can storm into people's rooms just on the chance they might find something.) But I mean to make a point of principle here. Wejo is an ignoramus for supporting gestapo style tactics in the name of athletics. It's a slippery slope. Of course, the Bush administration is all for stripping away our civil liberties. As many as possible. Perhaps Wejo should volunteer to be co-chair of homeland security. It can be renamed "The Department of Homeland and Performance Enhancing Drugs Security."
More seriously, the site of cheating is the body. A truly aggressive campaign of blood tests and urine tests should be sufficient to weed out the cheaters. The idea of supporting breaking and entering is STUPID.
But blood tests are like breaking and entering into my BODY! That's much WORSE than my house! Please, stop the insanity! I have my civil liberties! My blood is MY blood, not George Bush's!
WeJo, drugs are part of the evolution of the sport. Better tracks, better shoes, better food, better training methods...anything & everything is better. Faster times through better chemistry, what wrong with that?
The drugs that you are so against are no different then the tracks & shoes that you run on/with. Go back to the same track that Jim Ryun ran 3:51.1 & turn out a 28:06, think about it.
You have nothing to lose in trying to win.
Track and Field cannot rely on the police to enforce their rules, since in many cases, what is outlawed by track and field is completely legal. Instead, the IAAF must take responsibility for drug testing, hearings and punishments and they have apparently approached this half-heartedly. Until they put some teeth into their enforcement, certain athletes will continue to dope realizing a) there's little chance they'll get caught b) the punishment won't be severe and c) even if I do get caught and punished I'll make it look like I was a victim of some grand conspiracy and everyone will have pity on me.
