Its been almost 2 months since I have been diagnosed with MTSS. I stopped running, started icing 5 times a day, got orthotics, and it got a little better. I started swimming, stretching, and lower leg strenghtening, and it got better. At the beginning of June, it stopped getting any better. It feels like its almost healed, but there is a dull pain throughout the day when I'm not swimming. It also hurts a lot after standing for a while and when it gets hot. Two weeks ago I started running again, starting with 1/4 of a mile on the track, increasing 1/4 of a mile a day, taking off monday. I'm up to 3 miles at around 8 minute pace (I'm not allowed to run any farther or faster) and the MTSS hasn't got any better, but it also hasn't got any worse. When my leg hurts, the pain is usually along the bone in my posterior calf, but sometimes its in different places in the calf such as the posterior gastroc head. When I wake up, my Achilles always feels weird. Please someone, take all this information and help me fix this problem. I think I will go insane if I can't run somewhere other than the track.
