im a guy junior in high school and this is my 2nd year serious running. i took all summer off because i just got lazy and i started back running when school start, about a month ago. since i started back ive been getting 40 miles a week every week and have been running pretty good. last year my pr was 18:27 and this year i have already ran an 18:33 so im pretty happy about that. this weekend (saturday and sunday) i got 20 miles and then i took monday off. today I had a race and i felt horible. it was hot and the hilliest course around but still i dont like excuses like that. the winner ran ran about 1:30 off his normal time and i was a whole 2:15 off mine. i was still #1 from my school but ive never had a race this bad and i feel really bad about it. is it alright to have bad races every now and then? well any comments would be really appreciated, i am also kinda in the need for some kind of motivation, i feel like shit about it. thanks a lot, jesse
