Webb is a world class miler. I've got no problem with him stepping up to 5k occasionally to test his strength. This 10k is exactly that...a test of his strength right now...he'll be running fast 1500m races at the end of the summer, not 10k's, so you guys can quit creaming your pants about it.
Geb ran 3:31 for 1500 indoors. That's world class. Had he not already set world records in them, you would have told him to run that rather than the 5,000m and 10,000m. You should run the distance you're best at, not the shortest distance you can be somewhat competitive at.
For the record, I think Webb can be world-class at both 5,000m and 1,500m. It's a good thing he's moving up now and not waiting until he's past his peak.
