Is AG training at all these days or is he taking time off because of his back? Also was wondering if anybody knew how AC training is going for Chicago and if they knew what some of his workouts were.

"BTW, I ran into Alan Culpepper this morning, and took the opportunity to ask him some questions about his impending marathon debut in Chicago eight weeks from now. He's currently doing 120 a week, which he indicated was somewhat more mileage than he does during his normal 5-10K training cycle. He's doing a lot of marathon pace runs, and a lot of long (mile +) interval work. He also still does regular 400 sets, but he's doing them on grass, rather than the track, and he's doing both more of them, and at a slower pace, than he would if he were training for a 10K.
I asked him about a time goal, and he said that he's not approaching the race in that way, except he has a minimum acceptable time in mind that he'll be disappointed if he can't meet. The longest competitive race he's ever done is a 15K, so Chicago is going to be major uncharted territory.
Other notes of potential interest: we were talking while he stretched before his workout (which turned out to be mostly long intervals on dirt trails from what I saw of it), and his stretching routine seemed pretty elaborate, especially for before as opposed to after a workout. He was wearing a HRM.
Also, the guy is *cut* -- he appears to be nothing but sinew and bone, which is especially striking because he's pretty tall (an inch or two over six feet I'd say)."
