There's six Canadian marathoners chasing Olympic standard: Branna McDougall (PB
2:28:36), returning from a stressy, also racing CPH on May 5. She's fit and IMO has more potential to hit the standard than the five you listed.
The fact you think a 2:28 downhill with a tailwind marathoner has a better shot than a 2:23 Olympic marathoner begins to show you don't know what you're talking about. The fact that she's not even on the Copenhagen start list solidifies the fact you don't know what you're talking about.
Hamburg marathon is very good but could be windy and a bit warm
On the women's side there is currently 1 woman (Elmore) who has hit Olympic standard in any event from 800 to marathon. One.
That means from 800-10,000 Canada does not have a single woman with standard. So no - we're not going well right now.
Tremendous- we all know the ultimate performance benchmark in Canadian athletics is the fabled sub-3:07 marathon, which many of these hard working runners have smashed!
