I am curious if anyone agrees with me. I honestly feel like it was easier to buy running shorts in the late 90s than it is today. I have TrackSmith and Nike shorts right now - a total of 8 pairs - and I don't love any of them. The TrackSmith ones feel great when I put them on, but they aren't super great when I am 60 minutes into a 2-hour run. The fabric is just a bit too heavy. The Nike shorts I have just suck in almost every way.
I don't want boxer brief liners. I don't want a bunch of pockets. I just want shorts similar to the ones Nike and Adidas made in the late 90s. Standard brief liner with support, material that did not hold sweat, no restricted movement (Nike's commitment to "sustainable materials" is great, but it feels like I am running in shorts made from Coke-bottle plastic).
I admit that I am the problem, too. I am getting older and no longer want to run in 1.5 inseams splits. So part of the problem is me.
Am I missing something?
