I am an older runner here. My mileage is not very high. My work schedule is changing. I drive about an hour each day nto and from work. Running at work is not an option and I need to be at my office by 7am. Even though I leave by 3 each day there are many days that I am just too tired to go for a run once I get home. I already get up at 4 am but was thinking of trying to get up at 3 am so I can be out the door by 3:30-3:45 am each day to run. I've done early early morning runs in the past and aside from my pace being a lot slower because of the early time start they are actually quiet enjoyable. My question is if my easier runs become even easier but I don't skimp on my quality days will I still maintain/improve my overall running fitness? Thanks.
