I would like to do a fall marathon and could use some advice in planning my training.
I ran competitively in HS and a bit in college but was mostly injured. I have been doing a mix of running/cross training/lifting over the past two years to stay in okay shape. I know I have potential to run a fast marathon because I’ve always felt stronger in longer workouts/like doing fast long runs. I am generally able to run ~1:26 half marathon off about a month of running ~ 20 mpw. I have also done up to 18 miles and feel strong during. I am currently taking a break before I start training for the marathon.
Could anyone recommend a low mileage training plan? I am also wondering, how much time should I spend building up to higher mileage before I start longer runs and workouts? I haven’t consistently ran >35 mile weeks in a few years.
