My first 5k was a 17k low. I admit I have a hard time scaring sub 20 now. But I am no longer a weak skinny teenager in the middle of a growth spurt. Now I am big and strong. I can war on a keyboard, or anywhere.
I admit I haven't broken 20:00 in 13 years, but I'm 74 years old, so I don't feel too bad about it. I do have a lifetime 440yd PR under 51.0 so tell us what your best PR is tough guy.
As a man, if you're 18-40 and can't break 19 minutes for 5k off no training then you most likely failed to built up your "natural talent" to an adequate level during your childhood.
What can you do? What could you do twenty years ago?
What are you trying to say or defend?
OP has a point. Slower times as a Grown man does not mean you should turn into a sissy boy keyboard warrior (no offense boys but it’s very lame)
O.P. is likely Benjamin King. He is known for staring threads then walking away. If he responds to my clear and simple questions, I will then address you post.
Creeping too close to 60 for my comfort. Sub-20 is still doable at various points in a year but never assured. Never know when the wheels are going to come off the wagon.
And I don’t see myself as a “keyboard warrior” at all, but I could be in denial about that in a manner similar to my hope-bordering-on-delusions about my running.
Look, son. I can't run for more than 20 seconds without needing a rest. I'm obese, hypertensive, diabetic, and have a pacemaker in my chest. I haven't worked in nearly 20 years and collect disability and Social Security to get by. I live in a 40-year-old double wide trailer that FEMA paid for after last year's tornado hit. My 1974 F150 barely starts up.
I don't care a tinker's da*n about this sport or the skinny little qu**rs that do it. What I do care about is American commies trying to make life hard for America's wealthy job creators. On top of that, the commies are also trying to outlaw churches and make kids gay. I heard from some friends down at the Elk's Lodge that this site lets red blooded patriots like myself wage culture war without fear of getting canceled by the wokes. That's why I am here. Since newspapers and the liberal media eliminated comment sections, I ain't git many places to express my disgust with commies. I also like that the 1990s layout and interface still works with my AOL dial-up service.

Not wholly unlike “I am Spartacus,” we be Jamin. I want to jam wit you.
