Hi, I'm a high school distance runner and I've been running for a while and putting in more work and miles than my teammates, but I literally cannot get faster for the life of me. I came into last indoor with a 5:32 pr from last year outdoor, and finished the season with 5:33. My outdoor opener was 5:31, and I've pretty much given up on this season and am focusing on next year (junior year). I have legitimately no idea what I'm doing wrong - I do core and strength train weekly, do 40 miles per week, always show up to workouts, and I hate that my teammates don't have to do this to beat me. What can I do over the summer to fix this?
