Obviously the main draw of Arcadia of is the 3200, but the mile looks to be fairly exciting this year with Zavaleta and Morales, both sophomores. My guess is the field goes through in 3:07 and someone burns up a 58 second last lap and really puts in the work to hit a 4:05.high
I am going to try for a reverse jinx here and say the boys invitational mile is usually the most disappointing race of the event. It's the one race that frequently ends up being slow and tactical. And so many scratches, by the time the race starts you have 10 or less runners. They usually go through 3 laps at the same speed (or slower) than the seeded race.
3:07/58 is a good guess. But I predict 3:09/59 for 4:08. That will still be a mile PR for most, if not all the field.
Typically very true....the thing that favors a fast pace is that more than half of the field is out of state runners and rarely does anyone want to make a long trip for a tactical race. Fingers crossed for a hot pace.
