I'm a freshman running the 2000m steeple tomorrow and I have no idea what I'm doing. My mile PR is 5:38 and I'm pretty short, around 5'4", so if anyone has any tips and also what splits I should target that would be great. I've heard you should start slow to avoid burning out later bc it gets really hard to jump when tired, but I've also heard to just step on them.
